This blog is about our specialization project in school, its a part of the course.

So we are two programmers who have chosen to work with procedural generation of terrain, and implementation of a realistic sky. The reason for this is that we are of course both interested in graphics programming and we want to learn more about it by implementing something more advanced than we have before.

But what does this have to do with computer games? To manually create a map is of course doable, but it requires time, a nice solution would be to just let some algorithm generate the map based on preset parameters. To make a world look good, we also need to have a sky with moving clouds and a sun that seems realistic, and those are our goals for the project.
