Nearing the end of skinning J-F. It’s unfortunately taken quite a bit longer than we anticipated as dealing with very wide arms and legs was more challenging that I originally thought.

The image shows how I work when I skin. On the main monitor I’ve got the work area where I do all of the painting and modifying with the object I’m working on isolated. On the right-hand monitor I’ve got one window showing the same view without isolating the object so I can see the changes I’m making, the component editor to see how much the vertices are affected and by what joint. There’s also a third window if I need to watch an object from another side, or for general reference.

  1. Make a lowres version of the foot and then skin that one and use a wrap deformer to deform the highrez model.
